The photos that inspired this series of paintings were taken on #Kalpitiya beach, #SriLanka on the heels of a long gallop along the shores of the Indian ocean. The water was so clear and the horses so fresh. The #fishermen were bringing in their morning haul and a few school boys playing hooky were helping them. I can still hear the roar of the surf, its surge and ebb in my minds ear.
