One day after a night of tropical rains in Sri Lanka we opened the stable doors and all the horses ran out to the muddy arena. I felt the joy in every line of Luna's body as she cantered and jumped over and rolled in every single puddle she could find, splattering mud everywhere and coating herself in the process. 
The moment in time when a black filly turned mud brown stays with me to this day.
