I’m a finger painter who loves making a joyful mess with inks and acrylics! My art is all about movement, colour, and the magic that happens when you let go of control.

I paint with my hands to feel closer to the energy of what I’m creating — whether it’s a wild horse, a dancing landscape, or the quiet hum of light. Welcome to my world of splatters and stories — have a look around, and if something catches your eye (or your heart), I’d love to hear from you!

My Story
I’m Prameesha Abeysekera, a contemporary artist based in Calgary, Canada. I love painting using my hands, fingers and nails as tools to create texture among other traditional tools. My work is all about movement and emotion — splatters, swirls, and layered gestures that explore how energy flows through people, animals, and landscapes.

I’ve always been drawn to the dance of light and shadow — the fleeting moments that feel alive. My background in graphic design (BA in Graphic Design: New Media from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design University College, Epsom, UK) taught me the value of experimenting and merging different types of media to get unexpected results, inspiring me to find my voice merging inks and my hands.
Finger painting became my language — raw, expressive, and deeply personal.
For me, painting is both play and meditation. It’s how I explore the rhythm of life — the quiet in-betweens, the wild energy of movement, and the stories that emerge when you let go of control.
My work has been exhibited in London, Canada, Dubai and Sri Lanka, including shows at the Al Fares International Equine Trade Fair in Dubai; Calgary Public Library, Framed on Fifth, Art Market at Telus Convention Centre, Calyx Distinctive Arts, and the Calgary Stampede’s Miniature Masterpieces Gallery in Canada, and at Geoffrey Bawa’s Lunuganga, Galle Fort Printers, and Lionel Wendt Gallery in Sri Lanka.
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Take your time exploring my gallery — each piece carries a bit of my heart. If something speaks to you, or you’d just like to connect, I’d love to hear from you.
You can also follow my creative journey on Instagram and Facebook for a peek behind the scenes and updates on upcoming events.
Welcome — I hope you feel the movement and magic in these works as much as I did creating them.
